The 40 metre long, four-meter high ice slide is on Southbank’s waterfront near Eureka Skydeck. For $10 you get three goes of riding an inflatable tube down the slide. Eureka Skydeck, in partnership with Mirvac and Fuze Tea, will donate a portion of the funds to Variety: The Children’s Charity.
We visit the slide for a preview and I can report it is really fun, even for non-adrenalin junkies like me.
Note it does go fast and the heavier you are the faster you’ll go.
There are crash mats at the end though I think they’re about 10m too short as most people I noticed (including me) hit it quite hard.
Kids under 4 years need to go with an adult in one of the bigger slides, kids over 4 years old can ride their own smaller inflatable tube.
Before or after your ice slide session you can enjoy drinks and food at the Food Truck Park setting up at 11am every day. Variety Ice Slide sponsor, Fuze Tea, will provide a free Fuze Iced Tea to every slider. Every ticket to the ice slide will also offer discounted admission at both Eureka Skydeck and Federation Square’s River Rink.
Make the most of the winter season!
