If you know people living in from Melbourne with little ones who love to eat out, I’ve got the perfect Christmas stocking stuffer for you.

Deck of Secrets and Melbourne-based eating out blog Little Eats have teamed up to publish a new Deck of Secrets guide featuring 52 of the best kid-friendly cafes in Melbourne. I have a couple of Deck of Secrets guides at home so was very excited to receive their latest deck to review and add to my collection.

The cute pack, which will fit neatly into your nappy bag, contains a deck of 52 cards with a cafe or restaurant on each card detailing the cafe’s address, phone number, opening days, website, photo and bite-sized review. That means you can scan the pack, pick out the place you want to visit and just pop that card into your wallet. Easy!

Most importantly for parents, there’s a pictorial guide to the kid-friendly facilities available at each spot – high chairs, kids menus, pram access, change table, toys, play areas and whether the venue can be booked for kids parties.

Cafe Secrets Melbourne for Little Ones has given me lots of ideas about where to venture with my young baby– I thought I’d hit most of the kid-friendly places near my house but it seems there’s more out there! Particularly useful are the ‘list’ cards with 5 places pizzerias, 5 cafes by the sea, 5 winery restaurants etc.

Cafe Secrets Melbourne for Little Ones is $9.95 and is available from  Readings (including online), selected Dymocks & Collins stores, newsagents, kids boutiques and some featured cafes.
