I have been a fan of Cupcake Central‘s cupcakes ever since I sampled their wares at an event almost two years ago. In fact, every time I visit Melbourne Central I can’t resist popping into their store for a sweet treat.
This week I had another reason to visit – because instead of buying chocolate for my family (and let’s face it, for myself) I thought I’d be a little bit different this year and celebrate Easter with Easter cupcakes! These little cuties popped up in my Facebook feed and I just knew I had to try them.
Cupcake Central have ‘hatched’ some limited edition babycakes ie miniature cupcakes in four flavours and the dozen ‘eggs’ are packaged up in a cute Cupcake Central egg carton. The flavours – choc cookie crumble, choc coconut, choc caramel and oreo crumb – are all equally delicious and use either a chocolate or vanilla base. The cake has the excellent lightness and moistness I expect from their cupcakes. They also each have a molten centre just like those Cadbury Caramel Eggs of my childhood. I guarantee that you won’t be able to stop at one!
You can order the Easter babycakes online or purchase from any of their three stores (Hawthorn, Melbourne Central and Highpoint) until Easter Monday. Hop to it!
